The Cherry Post No.91 | Canal Boats & Gift Boxes (again)

Hello all to this week’s Cherry Post, getting closer and closer to the 100th CP.

Anyway, lets start the post by not talking about print work. Well last week I had my 7 year old step nephew up for a few days and on the Friday we were going to surprise him by taking him to Brick Live at the NEC which is a huge lego event. I love lego too so I confess I was excited to, but didn’t end up going due to some idiot in Coventry deciding to burn a van near a railway bridge cancelling all trains to Birmingham (where the NEC is for those who don’t know) for most of the day.

I might produce some prints inspired by Stoke Bruerne, Canal Boats or both

So in the end decided to go to a place called Stoke Bruerne, a beautiful small village in Northamptonshire that has a few canal boats around. I have visited Stoke Bruerne a few times but only briefly (as it’s near a restaurant which have had Sunday dinner at a few times) so it  good to have some more time. Started off by going on a small canal boat trip, with the weather being perfect on that day it was really great timing to on a small journey on a canal boat. I have been thinking about having a weekend with some friends on a canal boat in the new year, but more about that in 2018.

The only bad thing I can say about the trip was the Canal Museum there, while it was interesting. Heck the picture shown above would be great to use for inspiration for a print or something in the future but wasn’t worth the money but that’s just my opinion.

I haven’t been to a Halloween party in years so it was great to get invited to a party last Saturday, see above a few pictures from the night, before you ask I don’t know what I was going for either haha

I gave the Bonfirecherry shelf in my bedroom/studio a much needed tidy up. The print on the top shelf is one I produced for a client a few years ago, I occasionally have it at craft fairs.

The rest of the week I have been working on the Bonfirecherry Mystery Gift Boxes, it was fun putting different sized boxes together and working out which items to put in.

Last night I decided to print on the size to make the boxes even more special, I have got some things to finish in regards of presentation etc so plan on having the boxes available to pre-order next week with Patreon supporters being able to pre-order a day or two before everyone else (see top menu for link).

Nothing like new ink in the morning (also some sticker paper which i will reveal the reason for in the evening)

I got some new ink this week for the Cherry Cherry Christmas Drawstring Bags, which should be available by the end of next week.
