The Cherry Post No.89+ 90 | Llamas, Houses + Gift Boxes

Hello all to this double Cherry Post, yikes only 10 posts away the 100th Cherry post. Oh how time flies!

Going on from the 88th Cherry Post, I spent a day working on a Llama design that I had a random urge to work on. The design is based on a Llama that I saw and took a picture of at a stream rally event earlier this year. This design needs a bit of work on it which I will back to soon.

What do you think of the design which I've decided to call "Coby The Llama"?

I’ve lived in Northampton for 25 years of my life and there are places that I still haven’t checked out. One of those places was 78 Derngate, a Northampton house designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh which has been painstakingly restored. Last Tuesday I didn’t have anything planned so decided to have a spontaneous day out to 78, as it wasn’t half term I knew it wasn’t going to be busy.

I chose a great day to visit 78 Derngate as the weather was perfect and when I got to the house about 45/hour after it opened. When I got there, it was quiet as it would be giving by the time I arrived which I thought was great so I could take my time looking around.

I let the pictures I took below do the talking as I really enjoyed it and I don’t think I could fully describe what I loved about the house without the pictures.

Maybe I might do some designs based on the house in the future, would you like to see some?

During the past 2 weeks I've decided to add a mixture of new/old A5/A4 linocut prints to Bonfirecherry Etsy shop, such as a A4 version of the Revolutionary Soldier, The Good Loaf and Morning Cockerel (pictured, which I did think of calling ‘oh cock because of James May but thought at the last moment to go with a sensible name instead).

A change I’ve made to the Bonfirecherry.com Clearance Fair Stock collection, I’ve reduced all single notebooks to just £1 and FREE SHIPPING on all notebook which you can find here.

Since then I have been working on a project I have been thinking about recently, Bonfirecherry Mystery Gift Boxes full of different items made using linocut that BC has produced over the years. I’ve got a Patreon blog post about the boxes in detail here.

Bonfirecherry Patrons will be the first to know about the release date of the boxes just need to donate $1+ to become a patron 😊 check out Patreon link to find out more.

I thnk that's all for this double Cherry Post, thanks for reading!

Matthew
