The Cherry Post No.215 | Matchbox Khandie

Hello all to this weeks Cherry Post!

It’s been a great week, so let’s get on what Bonfirecherry has been up to the past few days.

Lets go back to last Friday when I had a rare trip to Northampton Town when I had to do some errands, one of them for Bonfirecherry which involved bringing a framed/mounted print I sorted out all the way back in March inspired by a match box, for the Matchbox Café!

Obviously due our current vision, I haven’t been able to support a lot of local cafes etc so thought I visit Matchbox Café as I love having a chat with Bing and Yasmin.

Check out my visit and that by watching the YouTube video above 😊

Was supposed to record with a guest on the Bonfire Banter Podcast on Friday evening but didn’t happen due to reasons so we had an episode about when things go wrong and how to deal with the situation, that will go live next week!

Speaking of the podcast, episode 36 went live this week which is all about answering questions from my mystery red box I own. Give it a listen here 😊

If you have been following Bonfirecherry for a while, you will know I am a huge fan of Khandie Photography/Khisses, search Khandie on this site to see!

Anyway, last year I produced a print of her during a burlesque performance but I be honest, there was a few things I didn’t like.

Taking awhile

So I thought this week I work on a brand new design inspired by her wonderful burlesque persona, to make sure it stands out I went up to A3!

It took me about a few hours to draw the design, around 2 hours to put the design onto the lino and around 9 hours over 2 days to have the burlesque inspired print to carve everything out, it’s an understatement that it took a while haha.

I got around to produce some colourful variants of the design that I decided to call “It’s Showtime”. Which colour do you like so far?

There is still some colour combinations I want to try out so hope to have the new print available sometime next week!

I think that’s everything for this week, thanks for reading!
