It’s been awhile but here is a brand new Cherry Post, it’s been crazy as of late but happy to finally get around to doing a new post 😊
But before that, just a reminder that Bonfirecherry co-hosts the Bonfire Banter Podcast, a small podcast dedicated to craft and business with funny banter on the side. We are now up to 29 episodes at the time of this blog post, find all of the audio content we’ve produced so far here, hope you enjoy!
With that out of the way, let’s talk about what Bonfirecherry has been up to recently!
At the end of May, I decided to produce a new design inspired by Japan. When I travelled to my all time dream destination last year, I just loved everything about the country and something that peaked my interest was the manhole covers.. yes the manhole covers which sounds like a strange inspiration but they put a lot of art on them.
One of them found in Takayama, a town I stayed in during my trip had flowers on, so I decided to based a new design on it as I rarely do anything flower inspired.
With that, here is Bonfirecherry’s new print “Toko’s Flowers” which is something that is out of my comfort zone but made sure to add colour to it, you can find & order this linocut print here.
I’ve been uploading videos to the Bonfirecherry Youtube Channel, weekly here is the most recent video
When it came to the start of June, I put my focus into the Bonfire Banter Podcast because we had our third guest!
The previous times we’ve had a guest, we had the recording sessions at Dene (friend & fellow co-host) ‘s studio but due to our current situation we used zoom to record & have a chat with Katie who runs Dotty and Dash!
We recorded Episode 32 to 36 with Katie where we talked prints (because both of us produce prints) to blogging, Episode 32 should go live on June 30th so that’s something to look forward to!
This week I’ve been producing some custom designs which have been interesting, the first was a family portrait.
Today I produced a custom print based on a Raccoon, cute hey? I will likely do a limited run of the design as I will be modifying the lino for the client soon.
I think that's everything for this week, thank you very much for reading!
