A View From Behind The Cherry | A Long Awaited Development

Hello all, this is not a Cherry Post!

This is a new post in the personal blog series that I decided to call “A View From Behind The Cherry”, click here if you want to read the previous personal blog posts and here for the blog post called “Happy?” that started the series off.

Just a heads up that I WILL NOT BE TALKING ABOUT BONFIRECHERRY AS SUCH IN THIS POST BUT ABOUT MY PERSONAL LIFE. Please be aware of that before you continue. Click the Cherry Post tag at the bottom of the post to go back to BC related content!

With that out of the way, lets start the post!

I’ve just came back home from my second appointment at Gender Services, so I thought I write a blog post about it, as mentioned before, if this helps at least someone in a similar situation to me then these blog posts have done their job.

My first appointment at GS was back in November 2018  (there is about a 6 month wait  between each appointment) and since then I attended an Emotional Wellbeing Group that  they recommended to me and as you see since then, it has gave me so much more courage to be more Megan eg how I’ve updated Bonfirecherry.com with pictures of her as the person who runs Bonfirecherry.

Friends, family and tons of people whom I am connected to have said how much I have changed, even I have noticed the change, I am a lot happier for starters.

The doctor at GS was very pleased on how I changed from my first appointment eg how I came there as Matt not as Megan for starters and wasn’t sure of myself.

The appointment was about how I be been and what I want to do to make myself happy. I’ve been thinking a lot about this as you would expect and I think you can guess the route I am going to go down, I know you know that much so I don’t need to say it.

I am going to Japan in November and I booked that as Matt so it would be too costly to change that over and my next appointment isn’t til December.

In the mean time I am going to prepare myself into what I need to do to change my name etc IDs such as Passport, Driving License etc and speech therapy so I sound more like a female.

It’s more after Japan/appointment in December that will look into female hormones BUT before that I need to lose the weight, this is something that is a must if I want to do what I’m alluding to due to how the hormones work I need to lose a certain amount of weight so there shouldn’t be any problems.

It’s new for everyone around me including myself so I like to think I’m going at a good speed.

I think that’s everything I can think of, thanks for reading!

BTW, I wasn't sure which picture to use so decided to use one I took with my 2 best friends on a recent night out.
