This blog post is a mixture of personal & Bonfirecherry related things, just a heads up.
The start of 2016 has been an interesting start, I have been reading a lot of books which I haven't done in about 2/3 years. I have a lot of research & books of fiction but for the past few years the fiction books have gone up but it's been the research books that I took more attention to.
The last lot of books I was addicted to 2/3 years ago were the Millennium trilogy by Stieg Larsson (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire & The Girl Who Knicked The Hornets' Nest ) which I read prior to the release of the american film version of The Girl With Dragon Tattoo. Before Christmas I treated myself to the recent 4th book to the (now) series but because it's been so long since I read the books I couldn't remember any of the characters so re-reading them and currently 1/3 through the third book The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest.
It's weird timing as a few weeks ago I was struggling to come up with an idea I had to do a print of a bad ass girl and from these books it gives you, Lisbeth Salander (The picture above is Rooney Mara's version of the character) who I can honestly put my hand on heart and say she is my most favourite female fictional character that I have ever came cross so far in my life (in my top 5 fictional characters)
I can't fully describe why I just adore her character but she is the character I want to use as inspiration for a big A3 print I want to do of a woman with attitude.
Comment below any other female characters I should use as inspiration
Moving on
Recently I've had people interested in some custom work and today I produced one of them, this was for a customer who wanted a design inspired by a smiling crescent moon and here you go. I didn't want it to be just the moon so I thought I add a mountain in too after using them in the Twin Peak Coin design.
If you are interested in your own custom print, be sure to check out the custom work page at the top above this post!
What next?
I said awhile ago that I have got new ideas for Bonfirecherry, the problem is that I am trying to find the time to get them all out there as I have been busy with various things. I have produced a new tote bag design recently which is still drying, working on a valentines inspired brooch & got 2 new linocut prints planned.
For some reason I am rushing getting these new ideas when I shouldn't be as I know people are ok with waiting, I have been promising new designs for awhile that I think I have been other excited so from now I am going to take my time as I know it be worth the wait
As you can probably guess there was really no plan to this blog post I just wanted to get off what has been on my mind recently, if you got any ideas for a blog post please do comment below
Thanks for reading!
